What do parents know?
Those are mostly the thoughts of my children when I attempt to share my wisdom!
After all, what did my parents teach me? Well, as it turns out, quite a lot. We may not have realised it and we certainly didn’t acknowledge it at the time, but my siblings and I have matured enough to set the record straight. AND some of these learnings have been the backbone for our lives.

1. Hard work is a minimum.
2. Life IS a competition.
3. Discipline and perseverance will set you apart. Never let anybody question your work ethic.
4. Admit your mistakes. If there is a broken window and you were playing with a cricket ball, it’s obvious who the culprit is.
5. How you start your morning strongly influences how you feel through the day.
6. The small things are often the big moments. Savour them.
7. Make time for friends and the relationships which matter.
8. Your time is limited. Your love is unlimited. Focus on things that matter.
9. Being polite and saying thank you will go a long way.10. Be on time for engagements. It’s a sign of good manners.
11. You will grow or simply get through experiences. You decide.
Thank you for the life lessons, Mum and Dad.
