𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗪𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀

1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯; 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼. Craft a strong CV and practise articulating your achievements.

2. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀. Don’t be the best kept secret in the room.

3. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Recognise what you need to shed as you ascend.

4. “𝗕𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵,” as Ted Lasso says. Forget your mistakes quickly and don't dwell on them. Happiness lies in moving forward.

5. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 and fill it with truthtellers. Blind spots are called that for a reason. Others will spot the things you miss.

6. 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹. Self-doubt is a constant companion on the journey. Learn not to indulge it.

7. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽.

8. 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀. Make sure yours are the ones worth catching!

AND remember the key to any challenge is salt water…That means - sweat, tears… or taking a swim in the sea!A big thank you to the team at Symphony Brad Levy, Corinna Mitchell, Sinead Lanyon and Annie Jackson. It was great partnering with you. Thank you also to Klaudia Gorczyca for all the incredible work you do for WILG.
