A great way to kick start Women’s History month moderating a panel with the fabulous Jenny Knott FCCA, NED at the British Business Bank, Kay Swinburne, Member of UK House of Lords and Advisor & Global FS Regulatory Expert, Emma Mansfield Operational Resilience Director at Lloyds Banking Group and Antje Waldecker Managing Director from Nomura.
A huge thank you to John Tierney, CEO of Nomura Europe Holdings, for hosting a fantastic event with Women in Leadership Global at Nomura’s London office.
Thanks to John Goff, Global Head of Structuring and Executive Sponsor of Nomura’s Gender Balance Network, for delivering a great opening. The discussion was filled with many golden nuggets.
Sharing a few favourites:
1. Your inputs in life will determine the outputs.
2. Have a mini board meeting with yourself regularly.
3. Don’t wait for a life event to take your health seriously.
4. Transparency will help avoid the unhelpful water cooler conversations.
5. Control what you can control. Don’t lose energy on the things you can’t influence.
6. Opportunities can come in different guises and from unexpected places. Be open.
7. The most important relationship you have is with yourself, yet it can be the most neglected.
8. Surround yourself with energy radiators. Where you can remove yourself from the energy drains.
9. Have a truth-teller in your tribe - someone who shares your mindset, but sees things clearly, without the weight of stress or emotion.
Thank you, Jenny Knott FCCA, for this one: ‘Those that matter won’t mind, and those that mind don’t matter.'
A reminder that you can’t please everyone.Huge thanks to Klaudia Gorczyca, Erika Pretorius and the Nomura Gender Balance Network for bringing this incredible event together.
And thank you to Christopher Willcox for giving everyone who joined a copy of my latest book 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘌𝘖𝘴.
