A great way to kick start Women’s History month moderating a panel with the fabulous Serene Murphy from Tradeweb, Susi de Verdelon from LCH, Antje Waldecker from Nomura and Joanna Davies from OSTTRA.
Thank you to Christopher Willcox, Jonathan Lewis, Caren Gray and Briana O'Hare for hosting such a great event at Nomura with Women in Leadership Global.
Many golden nuggets came out of the event.
Sharing a few of my favourites:
1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲.
2. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲. Audit your diary and ask yourself ‘Am I focused on the right things?’
3. 𝗕𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 – the takers. Be clear on your boundaries and ensure they are overt not covert.
4. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲. Be conscious of the voices you listen to when receiving feedback.
5. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲. If I am saying “yes” to this. What am I saying “no” to”?
6. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆.
7. 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆. 10 mins exercising is better than none.
8. 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Results take time.
9. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 - the person who will tell you things others may not.
10. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰 - ‘𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳?
